OUR SUPPORT MEETINGS
Our meetings are structured to frequently feature a program of interest to our community, along with plenty of time for sharing and discussion. All discussion is confidential.
Chapter meetings are held from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in the conference room at Diversity Richmond, located at 1407 Sherwood Avenue behind the Diamond. Diversity has several entrances, so enter the door marked for the Iridian Gallery. Once inside, turn right and go down a short hallway. The conference room will be on your right.
March 12, 2019:
Join us for an important meeting! Trace Hernandez, the Program Coordinator for Transgender Visibility at Equality Virginia, will be speaking to us about his duties at EV and about the importance of effective messaging to create meaningful discussions and honest communication. This can help us build common ground with those outside of our community and lead to greater understanding.
Public Policy Forum - March 19:
VCU is hosting the second annual public policy forum on the future of transgender and non binary people. The event will take place on Tuesday, March 19 from 6:00 - 7:30pm in room 303 of Cabell Library. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Some of the topics to be covered are immigration, health care, and criminal justice reform as they relate to transgender and non-binary people.
International Transgender Day of Visibility - March 31:
This event is held every year on March 31. It is dedicated to celebrating our transgender brethren and honoring their courage in daring to live openly and authentically, while also raising awareness of the discrimination faced by transgender folks worldwide. We urge you to use this day to increase your knowledge about the issues faced by the transgender community and learn about ways to support them in their quest for acceptance and equality. To find events on that day, visit Equality Virginia's TDOV Events page. More events are being added daily, so visit the page often.
